Probably the most classical design of conservatory, the Gabled Edwardian style is reminiscent of a multitude of early 20 th Century exotic plant rooms. The feeling of space and light within a Gabled Edwardian is almost spiritually uplifting as the slope of the roof sides can be altered to fit into virtually any house style or to the match the pitch of an exiting gable.
The gable itself is normally fitted with double-glazed toughened safety glass units and the design can range from the simplest rising mullion (design 1 below) to the most striking double sunburst (design 5 below) where each double-glazed unit is made from curved glass to fit into a structural gable.
To add the ultimate finishing touch, the outer frames of the gable can be fitted with dentil mouldings (which can also be fitted around the gutter ring beam).
Gables can be incorporated into bespoke T-shape conservatories and even into freestanding summerhouses. A striking example of this design can be seen on Page…..
With a Cornhill Gabled conservatory you have the ultimate choice of building materials.
